Body found by police in hunt for student, 20, missing since the early hours of Saturday

A body has been found in the search for missing Bristol student Olisa Odukwe.

The 20-year-old was last seen in the early hours of May 1 at his address in the Redland area of the city.

He had been wearing a grey YG hoodie with a picture of a black goat on the front, and either black shorts or black joggers and may have had a black racer style bike with him.

Olisa’s family have been informed.

An Avon and Somerset Police spokesman said: “A body has been found in the search for missing 20-year-old Bristol student Olisa Odukwe.

“Formal ID is yet to be carried out, but his family have been told.

“Our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.

“The death isn’t being treated as suspicious.”

One fellow student posted: “The best friend and housemate anyone could wish for, may he rest in peace.”

While another added simply: “Rest in peace brother” with a heart emoji.

A University of Bristol spokeswoman said: “We understand from the police that a body has been found in Bristol harbourside and formal identification is yet to take place.

“Missing student Olisa Odukwe’s next of kin have been informed of this development.

“Our thoughts are with his friends and family who we are supporting at this incredibly difficult time.

“We know this news will be upsetting for many students.

“Support is available to all students and staff affected by this news and we would encourage them to contact University wellbeing services for help, as well as seeking support directly from friends or family.
